Dr. Plener graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College after completing his undergraduate degree at York University. After completing his Chiropractic degree, he entered the Clinical Sciences Residency program at CMCC. This program assists in the development of a clinical specialist through roles in teaching, clinical placement, and research. In addition, Dr. Plener completed a Master’s of Science degree at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Plener is a clinician scientist, working within an interdisciplinary spine clinic at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. His main research focus is degenerative spinal conditions, specifically lumbar spinal stenosis and cervical spinal stenosis
